NTV
Plus |
NTV
Plus the premium PPV Russian broadcaster has purchased
the "POINT" broadcast graphics system for its sports
channel. The systems were delivered in time for coverage
of the world cup 2002 in Japan and Korea.
NTV Plus engineers
and presenters were able to be on air within hours
of delivery of the system, the ease of set-up and
use meant that little training was required for both
the technical and production personnel.
NTV Plus broadcasts
more than 200 channels, in time, the "POINT" will
be used for many other applications other than for
Sports. Complete flexibility in on air graphics creation
allows the broadcaster to create its own channel
branding. |

Cinevideo |
Cinevideo,
one of the UK's leading hire companies and part of
one of the worlds largest hire groups has invested
in the POINT system for its rental fleet. The first
unit will be used to cover the current West Indies
home cricket series. The system will be used by commentators
and producers for live match analysis graphics.
David Carr, managing
director of both Cinevideo and its sister company
Charter Broadcast commented, "Normally we buy
equipment such as this on a project basis, often
from a request by a client. In this instance we were
so impressed by the "POINT" and its obvious endorsement
from Sky Sports that we saw no risk in purchasing
the system. We are sure the system will prove popular
internationally and we are looking forward to a long
relationship with e-mediavision". |
 |
SKY Sports |
Sky
Sports has purchased a number of "POINT" systems
for use in Live sports coverage from Sky studios
as well as live outside broadcast locations. E-mediavision
developers of the "POINT" customised the system
to provide control from Sports gantry to the OB vehicle
over 600 meters of CAT5e cable, carrying a multiplex
of signals which include XGA resolution video, base
band video and touch screen control data. This allows
engineers to have the main "POINT" graphics computer located in the OB truck and to locate a
light weight flat panel touch screen on the gantry.
E-mediavision further
enhanced the "POINT" system to allow integration
with the Sky Sports graphic system from VizRT, the
graphics personnel have minutes before the start
of a game to get a confirmed team player list, the
player names once entered into the VizRT system are
immediately available to the sports commentators
via the link with "POINT", allowing team formations
etc to be discussed just before the start of any
game.
"POINT" is based
on a Windows 2000 platform, allowing engineers to
easily maintain the system without any specialist
computer skills.
"We worked very closely
with Sky Sports in development of this system, we
had input from studio, OB engineers, presenters,
graphics personnel and production staff to realise
a system that matched all their aspirations, current
and future. The development of "POINT" from
the outset has been to create a very open ended system,
allowing the system to be enhanced very easily and
at low cost to provide future graphic effects as
and when required, in short the system will not be
outdated as it grows with customer requirements.
Think of what you would like it to do......."POINT" probably
already does it"
